Kookaburras cackle at the break of dawn
heralding loud that a new day is born
Sun filters gently through the fresh forest green
activity everywhere, splendor to be seen.
Superb blue wren with his Jennies on the grass
pond reflects images - water glows like glass
Mauve water lilies open up to the sun
red dragonflies hover two joined as one
Water-dragon ambling then in a hurry
runs up on his back legs - he looks so funny
Pardalote leaps from his burrow in full flight
off on a mission finding food is his plight.
Orb Weaver web hangs dripping with dew
glistens like jewels every rainbow hue
I give my thanks each breath I take
as Kookaburras cackle on the new day-break.
Heralding the Sun - laughing chorus they make.
