Kmart shoppers reveal the BEST and WORST products they've ever bought – is your favourite on the list?
- Replies 9
Kmart has been a go-to shopping destination for Aussies for years now. It always seems to have what we need, whether it's a new wardrobe staple, homewares, or even just some general household supplies.
No matter what you need or are looking for, chances are pretty good that the retail giant will have what you want - and at an unbeatable price, of course!
But as any seasoned Kmart shopper knows, not every single product the store offers is going to be a winner. As much as we all love a bargain from time to time (or all the time), sometimes things just don't work out how we hope they will.
Maybe the product falls apart after one use or doesn't do what it's supposed to do; either way, it can be pretty frustrating when this happens – especially if you shelled out your hard-earned cash on it!

So which Kmart products are total winners in the eyes of shoppers? And which ones have left customers wondering what on earth were they thinking when they put them in their trolleys?
Recently, members of the popular Facebook page, Kmart Hacks & Decor, took to social media to answer those very questions. In a post on the page, people were asked to name their favourite and least favourite Kmart products in a series of categories. And as expected, there were some interesting results.
Here's what they had to say:
Kmart's air fryer and hot water dispenser are among the favourite buys on the list. Credit: Facebook.
Kmart's Air Fryer
Starting with the good stuff, air fryers came out on top as being one of overall all-time favourite buys from Kmart. If you are one of those people who like fried foods but don't want to consume all of the oil that they are cooked in, then this will be perfect for you!
The air fryers allow users to prepare delicious meals that are healthy, crispy, and delicious without the need to soak in grease. They also come at a reasonable price and are extremely simple to operate. In fact, many homeowners consider them to be the greatest household appliance of all time.
Some claim they don't heat up fast enough and that their timers are unreliable; however, the overall consensus is positive.
Kmart's Hot Water Dispenser
Most reviewers believe that Kmart's Hot Water Dispenser will make you want to toss out your kettle for good. With this appliance, making a cup of tea or coffee, or filling a pot with hot water, only takes seconds.
It pumps out about 6ml of water per second and features a child-proof lock for added security. The only thing to watch out for is the steep cost – at $69, most people probably won't pay that much for a water heater.
Kmart's Pull Chopper
The $6.50 Pull Chopper is a cult buy in the culinary world. Since it is so easy to use and clean, it is the perfect gift for someone who loves cooking, but is always in a hurry or maybe isn't that proficient in the kitchen yet.
And when the blade becomes dull or dirty, it can be easily replaced by pulling out and inserting the new blade in its place. Easy as pie!
Other reliable Kmart products worth noting are the store's desk organiser drawers, Lazy Susans, organisation baskets, tubs, containers, toaster, and sandwich press.

There are also products from Kmart that are said to be ineffective and frustrating. Some of these products are designed to make our lives easier, but they only make things worse instead.
Here are the poorly reviewed items that Kmart customers suggest avoiding:
Automatic Hand Soap Dispenser
Although some are still sceptical of its effectiveness, the automatic hand soap dispenser was one of the best-sellers among shoppers at Kmart. Its primary benefit is convenience, but unfortunately, some users report problems with this product.
Some say that it never worked at all, and others agree that it is really frustrating when it only works sometimes. One customer said the product loves 'chewing batteries', while another agreed and added that '99 per cent of buyers' return it to the store.
Since there is a reasonable chance that this machine won't work correctly, it is probably better to leave it on the shelf.
Cordless stick vacuum cleaner
This cordless stick vacuum is one of the most popular items on the Kmart website and is usually their number one best-selling vacuum cleaner.
However, several customers have complained about it, saying that the product is exhausting to use and doesn't work that well.
According to one customer: 'Product is light, but does get heavy on the wrist after a while. Suction is not very strong, so pick-up is very minimal.' A second buyer agreed and added, 'This vacuum seems to only be suitable for non-carpeted floors, and even then, the suction is very weak.'
A third user even said their item 'went up in flames', adding: 'It was the heaviest, most cumbersome cleaner I ever tried to use, so I was happy to have a legitimate reason to take it back and get a refund.'
Other bad Kmart products worth noting are the store's rugs, scrunch bum leggings, bathroom suction shelves, and alarm clocks.
Members, we hope this list will help you with your shopping! Because really, who wants to spend more than they need to, right? Especially on sub par products.
