Kmart shopper shares X-rated find in Kmart's kids section: "It made me laugh!"

There are just so many reasons why we love Kmart.

One is that it's a one-stop shop that's ideal for pretty much any situation you might find yourself in. The prices are usually too good to pass up, so you end up buying things you don't really need. (We're certainly guilty!)

Another reason is that every time you go, you just can't help but check out the clothing aisle, which is surprisingly stocked with fashionable and trendy items. And because the prices are so low, you might find yourself unexpectedly buying a few extra pairs of socks, a brand new shirt, or maybe even a pair of pants or underwear.

But as any Kmart enthusiast would know, the store's home goods department is where it really shines. The retail store has an insanely large craft section, which has, at various points, awakened our inner DIYers.

When you're browsing the aisles at Kmart, there is just no knowing what extraordinary products are going to catch your eye next! Which, we must admit, is often what makes the entire trip so unique and exciting.

Just take a look at the story of this one mum who managed to find something 'unusual' and 'x-rated' in the retail store's children's range.

Melissa Veldhuizen was doing her weekly shopping at a Kmart location close to her home when she noticed that there was an issue with some of the bracelets sold under the store's own brand, Anko.

The $3 best friends bracelets are designed to be shared between a child and his or her best friend, and are supposed to have lettered beads that spelt out the word "besties".

However, as Ms Veldhuizen pointed out, one friend may end up getting more than they bargained for – one of the bracelets she photographed had the unfortunate typo "testies" instead of "besties," which is painfully close to being completely inappropriate for children's accessories!

Ms Veldhuizen said she had a "bit of a chuckle" during her Thursday night shopping as she posted the photo to the popular Facebook group Kmart Hacks and Decor.

"I had to do a double-take as I thought I was seeing things, haha but it made me laugh!" she wrote in the caption, adding, "Someone was having some fun when they made this one."

Needless to say, the silly error made thousands of other Kmart customers laugh as well. Some of them even chimed in and contributed their own lines to the joke!

"If all the bracelets had said this, the sales would have been higher," wrote one user in the comments. Another quipped, "His and hers?"

Everyone enjoys making friendship bracelets, from young children and teenagers who are learning how to do so to adults who want to create a little bit of nostalgia. And what better place to start than with simple friendship bracelet instructions?

If you're looking for some simple crafts to do with the grandkids on a rainy, quiet afternoon, look no further than this simple, step-by-step tutorial for making a Fishtail Friendship Bracelet.

All you need are:
  • Recycled string / shoelaces / ribbon
  • Beads / charms (optional)
  • Scissors
  • Peg
  • Heavy book or magazine

And here's how to do it:

Start with 4 pieces of one colour of string and 4 pieces of another colour. You will have a total of eight pieces of string. The length of each piece of string should be the same as the length of your arm.

Tie all the pieces together at one end and pin that end to the top of a heavy book or magazine. This will help keep your braid in place while you work.

Split the two colours apart and hold one in each hand.

Pass one string from your right hand into your left hand. Now, move one of the strings from the left hand to the right hand. Repeat until you can hold all four different coloured strings with both hands.

Now start to pass back the first colour. Pass one string back to the left, this time with the right hand. Now, the left hand gives the right hand one string back.

Keep switching the colours from left to right until the length you want is reached.

To finish your bracelet, tie a knot at the end!
