Kmart shopper’s $79 Christmas tree ‘looks NOTHING like the photo’

A Kmart customer recently bought a brand new Christmas tree only to find out that it looks far different from what was advertised.

On a Facebook group, Stephanie shared photos of her $79 six-foot pre-lit Green Christmas Tree from Kmart.

“Purchased the Christmas tree and went to put it up today to find out half the tree is missing and it looks nothing like the photo,” said the shopper.

“Not cool and not a happy customer.”

The pre-lit Christmas tree was described as having 200 LED warm white lights and green foliage on a metal stand.

Unfortunately, Stephanie's particular tree looks less festive than what the box suggested and was sparse from the middle right down to the metal base. Though it seemed easy enough to assemble, the final product left the shopper feeling very underwhelmed.

“Definitely a dud…” one user commented.

“Yeah, that's a dud,” another agreed and suggested that she take it back to the store for a refund.

Other members of the group pointed out that Stephanie needed to simply ‘fluff up’ the tree to expand each of the branches, sharing photos of their own Christmas trees.

“Kind of looks like you started fluffing out the top then gave up. Ours looked like this and worked out perfectly. Takes a lot of time and effort though.” said one user.

“This is the exact same tree from Kmart. I just had to separate the branches and fluff it out a little,” another person wrote.

More comments came up about how she just needed to give it a little more effort and time.

“This ain't it. You've got to actually pull the branches out and fluff it, not just attach it to the base and expect it to expand by itself,” advised another member of the group.

“I think if you go through and fluff up all the branches that will make a massive difference.”

The Pre-lit Green Christmas Tree is a popular choice at Kmart and many customers claimed they loved using it every year.

Yeah...for that money... I'd be sending it back...the picture is much fuller, that looks like a half dead tree!!

We have one that looked like that when it was opened. You need to spread and open the branches individually. See photo of ours attached.
