Kmart launches budget-friendly $49 'dupe' for a luxury item that retails for $170

Kmart is always coming out with new and innovative products that have Aussies talking, but the best part about the affordable store is definitely how much cheaper their items are in comparison to designer brands.

Speaking of budget-friendly items, the retail giant has just unveiled a new item that could save shoppers more than a hundred dollars ahead of Christmas.

Kmart's latest product offering is its take on the popular coffee table books for travellers which feature otherworldly destinations such as the French Riviera, Palm Springs, the Maldives, and the Greek Islands.

The books also feature vibrant covers and polished lettering along the side of the pages.

Some savvy shoppers have compared them to the pricey Assouline travel coffee table books that retail for nearly $170 each. Kmart's version of the product is priced at $49, making it over three times cheaper than the luxury fashion books.

Customers who want to get their hands on the product are advised to check their local stores as the promotional item is only available online in limited quantities.

The release comes after Kmart had a huge success after launching a ‘knock-off’ version of the Hollywood mirror, which became all the rage among TikTok users, both young and (we’re going to be honest here) old!

The full-length mirror allows you to swivel and pivot so you can get a great look no matter what angle you are standing or sitting at. It comes with LED lights that run vertically down both sides of the mirror, just like the dressing room mirrors of Hollywood stars.

This mirror also comes with touch-activated buttons to control the various LED options, including natural white light, warm light, cool light and off.

'Feel like a superstar as you get ready in front of this Hollywood mirror that is designed with vanity LED lights,' Kmart said on its website in the item's description.

Some shoppers who have purchased the mirror commented on how amazing the product looks on their dressing tables.

One woman said: 'So pretty! Makes me want one.'

'Looks expensive, such a good mirror for my dressing room,' another agreed.

In another online Australian store, similar mirrors are sold for $999, while others have them priced at $850 and $748. Given this, Kmart's version is a real bargain!

Key Takeaways

  • Kmart has just released a dupe for the popular Assouline travel coffee table books.
  • The Kmart version will set you back just $49, while the Assouline books retail for around $170.

Are you looking forward to nabbing these books? Better yet, have you tried purchasing a Kmart 'dupe' before? If so, are they just as good as their more expensive counterparts? Share your experiences with us in the comments below!

I don't need K-Mart to turn my coffee table into something other than what "I" use it for. Impress, impress to show people you're knowledgeable. We've had enough of people using their kids to show us how they are so clever with their mobile phones. Before long we'll be raising kids alien to facial talk. So much technology being used as toys. I have precious books that I keep in my small Library instead of on a table. One can only be read @ a time, AND I won't lend! Dog ear any one of my books & I'll show you the front door. I got that straight many years ago. Well, K-Mart won't get rich on me if there is any idea of anyone wanting to have an impressive coffee table. We have 2 ears, 2 eyes, a divided nose & ONE mouth. If you want to impress, USE IT. It's not only for eating & drinking.
IT is your tool to impress knowledge with facing a person & talking common sense.

I dont have a coffee table, not enough room. Maybe a book that can be used as a coffee table!!!!
My darling late husband did just that! Bought me a massive book I wanted on world architecture (310 x 450 x 55mm & weighs about 8kgs) and put legs on it because he thought that was what coffee table book meant 🤣
