Easter Sunday is celebrated differently by Aussies across the country.

Some attended Mass with their families and took the time for self-reflection and spiritual renewal. And since Good Friday and Easter Monday are both national public holidays, there were also Aussies who took the opportunity to go off-grid for a while and see more of the country, with the weather still (somewhat) warm before the winter season.

Regardless, it seems like all Aussies (where they could) had an Easter gathering with their family and friends. And what usually goes along with an Easter gathering? Well, of course, the very popular Easter egg hunt for the kids (and for adults who wanted to unleash their inner child as well)!

Many Aussies online have shared that they spent the long weekend celebrating by doing a couple of Easter-themed games with the kids.

However, some of them were left baffled because the Easter-themed items they bought from a popular retail chain seemed to be a bit… out of season.

Sharing on Facebook, some shoppers complained that the Easter crackers they bought from Kmart have left them a little confused.

Apparently, some of the crackers sold at Kmart seemed to be "recycled" by the manufacturers, with the crackers containing Christmas jokes instead of Easter-themed ones.

One mum from Victoria shared that her husband got a good laugh out of the "Easter" crackers – not because of the jokes, but because Kmart was "recycling" their items again.

"All six crackers had Christmas jokes in them… good old Kmart and recycling," he said.

Many other customers commented that they had the same experience after opening their crackers on Easter Sunday.

"We've been laughing at that all day as we experienced the same! Every time someone would crack one open we would all start giggling again!" another Kmart shopper wrote.

However, not everyone was amused by the cracker mishap.

"I was like WTF, Christmas jokes, never again," one shopper wrote.

This wasn't the first time people complained about what was in their Easter crackers bought from Kmart.

The tradition of opening crackers used to be only done on Christmas, but now people have been doing it on Easter as well, which some people have called "Christmas: The Sequel".

I am 72 and have never heard of Easter Crackers! They have always been known as Christmas Crackers and as with everything you get what you pay for when purchasing these at Christmas.

Why does Kmart not just promote Christmas in July and flog them then? It makes much better sense than wasting paper by printing bunny labels to stick on!
Christmas in July is often better as there is much less stress involved.
