Karl Stefanovic makes shocking claim during an interview with NBA legend

Karl Stefanovic has recently become a hot topic in the United States.

His interview with NBA legend Scottie Pippen has gone viral, sparking a flurry of discussions and debates among basketball fans and pundits alike.

The reason? A surprising claim about Michael Jordan—arguably one of the most iconic figures in basketball history.

Stefanovic, known for his candid interviews with some of the world's biggest celebrities, has once again made headlines.

Pippen, a six-time NBA championship winner, has been known for his contentious comments about his former teammate, Michael Jordan.

However, it was a surprisingly amicable remark during his recent interview with Stefanovic that has set the internet ablaze.

The NBA legend's interview on The Today Show has garnered significant attention, primarily because Pippen seemed to have changed his stance on his former teammate.

When Stefanovic asked Pippen about Jordan's claim to be the greatest basketball player of all time, Pippen responded: 'Oh, for sure. I mean, you look at the MVPs that he was able to achieve.'

'But I think it was all brought from us being successful as a team. Obviously, someone is going to bring those accolades home, but yeah, he was the greatest player, definitely in basketball.'

This statement is a stark contrast to Pippen's previous comments, where he had named LeBron James as the greatest of all time.

James, who recently surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the leading point scorer in NBA history, has been a recurring figure in Pippen's shifting opinions on the 'greatest of all time' debate.

Pippen's changing stance on the subject has been a point of discussion among fans and analysts.

However, one thing Pippen has consistently maintained is that basketball is a team game and doesn't revolve around individual players.

This sentiment was echoed in his interview with Stefanovic, where he emphasised the importance of team play in achieving success.

'I saw Jordan play before I came to play with the Bulls,' Pippen said in a podcast interview.

'You guys saw him play. He was a horrible player. He was horrible to play with. He was all one-on-one, he’s shooting bad shots, and all of a sudden we become a team, and we start winning, and everybody forgot who he was.'

The interview has since gone viral, with one version garnering over 400,000 views.

The relationship between Pippen and Jordan has been a subject of public interest, especially after the release of the popular documentary The Last Dance.

Pippen was reportedly unhappy with his portrayal in the documentary, which has added another layer of intrigue to his recent comments.

Stefanovic and his co-host, Sarah Abo, seemed to tread lightly around the subject of the documentary during the interview.

When asked about The Last Dance, Pippen responded: 'I thought it was special. I thought it was a special moment for us to really relive some of the greatest times in basketball history.'

'And more so having the opportunity to see what team basketball was like. And I think during the pandemic, everyone sitting home, it was more like an education tool to let people see how great the game can be if it’s played the right way.'

'And if they’re sharing [about] basketball, [there are] unlimited things that you can achieve in a game of basketball. And we were able to win six titles over a decade, and that’s [a] pretty high accomplishment.'

Stefanovic also pointed out that he had never seen Abo so excited, and she happily admitted that she was beyond ecstatic to see the NBA legend in the flesh.

Those NBA players have an imposing height with a salary of mega millions.
Such a shame Pippen didn't sign a prenup when his wife divorced him after he retired.

Petra you are so right. I can't stand a bar of this loud mouth. My morning tv watching is getting shorter and shorter and I often just change channels . That bloke is so up himself he's inside out. I wish they'd dump this creep and bring back his brother Peter....husband of Sylvia Jeffries.

NO!! leave Peter where he is thank you. Get Fox to watch Peter.

I do not watch any TV in the morning.
That's when I eat breakfast, read a book, wash the dishes and pretty much get on with my own life.
Some interviews may be worth watching, some not. If they don't make prime time evening viewing, they most likely do not pass muster.
