Radio presenter Jackie 'O' Henderson made headlines after an on-air confession that stunned listeners on The Kyle & Jackie O Show.
During a candid segment on Tuesday morning, the 50-year-old revealed she had once slept with a fan she met in a nightclub.
‘I have [had sex with a fan]. He was lovely,’ she said during an interview with OnlyFans star Annie Knight.
Her co-host Kyle Sandilands chimed in with more details about the encounter, explaining: ‘[During sex] he said to her “I can’t believe I’m having sex with Kyle and Jackie!”’
Jackie immediately corrected him, replying: ‘He did not say you! You were not mentioned.’
This confession followed a far more emotional moment from Jackie, who recently opened up about her struggles with addiction and self-worth during an interview with American self-help podcaster Gabby Bernstein.
Jackie broke down while talking about her mindset journey, saying: ‘I never felt good enough... It takes a long time to do that. And then it all came up and it was like a pressure cooker and everything came out. Sometimes I think we have core beliefs that we’re not even aware of.’
When Gabby asked whether Jackie was hoping to ‘manifest’ a romantic partner, given she was still single at 50, Jackie replied: ‘Yep.’
She acknowledged that her single status and ongoing sobriety were key insecurities she had been trying to work through.
‘I know it takes a long time to do that. You know, to heal. I feel like I’ve been working on it for two and a half years, constantly,’ she added.
Gabby reassured her that healing was a ‘lifetime journey’, but that she could still make daily choices to support her growth.
Back in October, Jackie first opened up about her addiction live on The Kyle & Jackie O Show, revealing she had checked into the Betty Ford Clinic in California in November 2022.
She had taken an extended break from radio, which Kyle told listeners was due to her contracting Covid.
In truth, she had flown to Los Angeles to attend a month-long rehab program at the facility known for treating celebrities like Keith Urban, Robert Downey Jr. and Lindsay Lohan.
The clinic charges between $45,000 and $90,000 AUD per month depending on the program.
Jackie emotionally credited her friend Gemma for orchestrating the trip and convincing her to seek help.
‘It came to a head and [Gemma] was such a great friend. She said “I’m sorry Jackie, but you’re not going to taper off this, it will never work. I’m checking you into rehab at the end of the week... we’re going”,’ Jackie recalled.
‘I said “don’t be ridiculous, that is such overkill. I don’t have a problem that bad that I need to go to Betty Ford”.’
‘And she said “no, we’re going and we’re doing it” and I thank God she did that.’
‘Thank God there was someone out there like her. I believe she saved my life.’
Jackie said they caught a late-night flight from Australia to the US, with Gemma helping her stay under the radar.
She revealed she had hidden her addiction for two ‘long and painful years’.
Betty Ford staff advised her not to taper off her usage before arrival, warning it could be dangerous.
As a result, she was still using on the day of her departure.
At the peak of her addiction, Jackie had been consuming around 10 to 12 Stilnox/Zolpidem sleeping tablets, 24 Panadeine Forte, and drinking alcohol.
Stilnox comes with strict warnings not to combine it with alcohol due to the risk of respiratory depression and unconsciousness.
Jackie said she hesitated about whether to speak publicly, but ultimately shared the full extent of her experience in her memoir The Whole Truth.
