IKEA just made Christmas shopping a whole lot easier - find out how!

It's not a secret that IKEA can be a little overwhelming for shoppers, especially for those who are unfamiliar with the Swedish retailer's showroom-style layout.
With a wide variety of products to choose from (as well as meatballs to munch on), IKEA is an iconic retail experience— but one that can be difficult to navigate efficiently.
That's why the retail giant is making a few adjustments to the store experience to make it more efficient and fun for shoppers.
Two new digital tools have been rolled out to meet the needs of IKEA customers, with the aim of providing them with more innovative ways of interacting with them and making the shopping experience more personalised.
The first innovation is a Gift Registry designed to meet the needs of gift-givers during the Christmas shopping season.
If you're looking for gift ideas for your loved ones, then take note — IKEA's Gift Registry is here to help!
In a nutshell, here's how it works.
Customers can select products they want to receive as gifts from IKEA’s vast selection of wares using the registry.
Once the desired products are on the list, customers can share them with family and friends so they can browse and select what they want to gift.
A neat feature of this is that the Gift Registry updates in real-time, meaning if someone buys you a product you listed, it’s automatically indicated to others browsing the list that it’s already been bought — perfect for avoiding any duplicate gifts!
If you don’t have one already, create an IKEA account here.
Once you have one, just proceed to the IKEA website and click on the Gift Registry button to get started.
The next one is something you might be familiar with: self-checkouts!
IKEA’s new self-checkout system operates pretty much the same as Woolies’ Scan&Go, where customers can scan items as they place them on their trolleys.
They can then pay at designated mobile checkouts in the store, which eliminates the need for any queueing.
Customers can activate IKEA’s checkout feature via the IKEA app (Google Play Store, Apple) or through scannable QR codes available in-store at ten locations nationwide.
IKEA rolled out the features just in time for the holidays.
'Customer behaviour is always changing and we are constantly looking for innovative ways to best meet our customers at IKEA,' said Giovanni Rutigliano, Country Digital Manager of IKEA Australia.
'We know our customers want to shop faster and more efficiently in-store and online.
‘We're excited that our new digital launches, the Gift Registry and the in-store App Checkout, will make the shopping experience simpler and more exciting, whether it be enabling a super-fast checkout or organising for a gift-giving event.'
We hope you have successful, hassle-free IKEA shopping experiences!
