The only time I played a pinball machine was with my hometown friend when we were in Auckland. We went to do the weekly shop and ended up spending all of our grocery money in the machines.
They are fun!
However I learnt to leave them alone.

If we went to the movies at Hoyts George St we would go across the road near maccas and play. There were always undercover police there but could always spot them. They would have asked why you ran, what did you answer them

I'm a city girl and was very street wise. I would see under cover police and actually go up to them and say ' your not being very undercover ' why arnt you out looking for the real bad guys

Imagine that happening today what happenedto you, they would be sued

I remember how you had to leave a few 20c pieces on top if there wasn't a coin then someone else would walk up and add a coin claiming that it was their turn when all your games were up
In 1980 I worked in Kalbari (about 500km N of Perth). We used to put coins on the pool table edge, and when some-one ran out of beer money, they'd come along and scoop them all up and head to the bar, never any complaints, it just happened occasionally. Same pub, if it got too crowded in the pub, all the guys would simply carry the pool table out into the parking lot and carry on, the parking lot was far from level, good times.

They really were the days. And some great memories

It would be so good to start a thread for people to share photos of themselves, then and now. So then we can put faces to people
This is a great idea, @Suzanne rose! I'll pass it on to the team! :D

Great story @Wandiwa! Sorry for the randomness, but what's the oddest thing that happened in that pub?
