Hyundai Australia issues massive vehicle recall across Australia. Find out if you're affected

Vehicles are meant to be reliable machines that take us to our destination.

However, a major carmaker announced a widespread recall, which shook Australian motorists.

Hyundai Australia has issued a significant recall that may impact road safety.

The South Korean carmaker recalled 4,871 vehicles due to a manufacturing defect that could lead to serious consequences.

The recall affected several popular models, including the i30 Sedan N, Kona N, and the G70 sedan, all produced between 2020 and 2023.

Hyundai's luxury brand, Genesis, also recalled 216 units of their G70 sedan built between 2017 to 2023.

The recalled units had one common issue: their fuel control valve located in the high-pressure fuel pump.

Due to a manufacturing defect, this valve could let an excessive amount of fuel into the pump.

If this occurs, there's a chance that the engine could stall, resulting in a sudden loss of power while driving.

This loss of power could lead to accidents and a serious threat to both passengers and other road users.

This recall should be a reminder of the importance of automotive safety and the need for constant vehicle maintenance.

Owners of the affected models should take action immediately.

Owners may check the complete list of affected vehicles and their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) via the Australian government's vehicle recall website.

Hyundai and Genesis have also started contacting owners of these vehicles for an appointment.

Affected vehicles should have their fuel pump replaced free of charge.

This is part of Hyundai's commitment to their customers' safety and satisfaction.

This was not the first time Hyundai and Genesis issued a recall.

A few months ago, Genesis recalled 787 vehicles due to another fuel pump defect'.

Genesis Australia also offered free inspection and replacement services for the affected vehicle owners.

Another driver shared her terrifying experience while driving a Hyundai Kona.

According to the Gold Coast local, her vehicle's brakes failed, which led her to crash in order to stop the vehicle.

For more information or concerns about the recall, motorists may call Hyundai's customer care hotline at 1800 186 306.

They may also schedule an appointment for any affected vehicle owners.
