Hugh Jackman's heartfelt video message to fans will leave you teary-eyed!

When it comes to the world of celebrities, it's easy to just see them as people who live extravagant lifestyles and have little in the way of real problems.

But if there's one thing we’ve learned, it's that stars are as prone to the same difficulties as everyone else.

Hugh Jackman, a recognisable face in both Australia and Hollywood alike, has been through his own struggles, recently separating from his wife Deborra-Lee Furness.

However, the star took a moment to step away from his own worries in order to shed light on the difficulties faced by Damon, a teenage patient receiving support from the Starlight Children’s Foundation.

Jackman reached out to 15-year-old Damon, who suffers from sickle cell disease, a disorder that results in multiple infections and surgeries.

In the heartwarming video, Jackman praised Damon's bravery and determination, commending him for being an inspiration to everyone.

'Damon, g'day mate, it's Hugh Jackman here,' Jackman said while sending the patient his love and support.

'I just wanted to send a message from me to you, and I wanted to say that I think [you] are incredible, and I hope that you are leaning on all the love and all the care and all the attention you're getting from your family, from your friends, from everyone who's looking after you and also from me.'

'You're an inspiration, and I'm just sending all my love, I'm sending all my strength, and I'm sending you all my thoughts.'

'Hang in there, man, you're amazing,' he said before ending the video.

The foundation responded with a post that outlined the details of Damon's condition and praised his mother, Liz, for taking care of her son with so much patience through these trying times.

‘For Damon and his mom Liz, living with sickle cell disease has come with many hurdles, including surgeries for a bone infection and multiple hospital stays,’ the foundation said.

‘The virtual world offers him a break from pain and stress during tough times and even helps manage his ADHD, giving him moments of comfort and calm and easing his anxiety along the way.’

Starlight also responded to a comment and confirmed that Damon was the patient Jackman was referring to in his video. Positive comments then flooded Jackman’s post.

One comment said: ‘Here from Hugh Jackman. You go, Damon. It’s but a light work for you.’

‘Hugh Jackman sent me here to help empower, encourage and share my strength with you, all the best, Damon, you’ve got this ( you’ll be more famous than him in no time),’ one added.

According to experts, sickle cell disease is an incurable disorder that affects the shape of red blood cells, which carry oxygen to all parts of the body. The symptoms are intense pain with extreme fatigue and frequent infections.
