How This Woman Keeps Her Shower Sparkling - A Simple Trick You'll Wish You'd Known Sooner

The bathroom is one of the most frequently used areas in any home, which can lead to congestion and clutter.

Unfortunately, this often results in shower glass becoming foggy due to humidity and water droplets, causing frustration for many homeowners and renters alike.

It’s one of the biggest problems many of us face in our homes - that nasty limescale build-up and foggy shower. But did you know that there’s an incredibly simple step you can take to make it vanish?'

Miss Cherie has become well-known on TikTok for her immaculate bathroom.

Now, she’s sharing her secrets with others who struggle with foggy shower doors.

In a recent TikTok video, Miss Cherie shared her simple yet effective trick for keeping her shower glass and tiles looking consistently good without using any cleaning products or unusual hacks.

Her secret? Drying her bathroom every other use! By implementing this easy routine, she successfully eliminated limescale build-ups in her shower.

She said in her video: 'Guys, I literally dry my bath after every shower.’

’I, first of all, use the window wiper thing (squeegee) and then I dry it with a towel [making sure to dry] the tiles, the silver points and the glass screen.’

She adds that she makes sure to remove any moisture to prevent any mould or mildew from growing on the tiles.

'What's limescale? Limescale does not exist in this home, and it looks so good if there are no water stains or limescale…' Cherise continued.

'It will forever stay shiny.'

Cherise's cleaning tip is vouched for by many cleaning experts as the most efficient way to prevent limescale buildup in shower screens, which is what causes them to become foggy in the first place.

Limescale is a build-up of calcium carbonate that can naturally occur in drinking water.

When it accumulates on surfaces such as shower glass, it can combine with soap scum and create a foggy and unclear appearance.

This can make it difficult to see through the glass.

Additionally, the cleaning tip also helps to further protect the colour and cleanliness of the grout by eliminating additional water from the tiles.

Cherise’s tip gained traction on TikTok, attracting the attention of thousands of users.

Many users said they utilise the cleaning tip frequently in their homes, with many saying they do the trick almost daily.

One user wrote: ‘Yesssssss we grew up being forced to wipe down for the next person in my home. Best habit to pick up.’

‘Me too, then I just stand there admiring everything,’ another shared.

A third chimed in: ‘I do this. It's just a habit now and it takes no time.’

For some users, however, taking the time for this cleaning tip seems too difficult and not appealing after a nice and refreshing shower.

'I'd start sweating again if I did that,' one person said.

Another chimed in: 'Ain't nobody got time for that.'

If your shower is particularly foggy to the point where you feel it's too difficult to dry it completely, or if the buildup is so bad that you think it's too much work to dry it, you can try taking Cherise's tip to the next level by adding some vinegar to the mix.

Vinegar can be more efficient at removing limescale due to its acidic nature, which helps in more effectively destroying the chalky substance.

The build-up of your shower glass should decrease considerably with this tip, and you should be able to achieve a cleaner, fog-free shower.

I did this once only. Honestly I would prefer to give the shower a good clean once a week. By cleaning it weekly it’s really quite easy to clean. I just use a magic eraser, no chemicals needed.

My 18 year old saw this on tik tok and went out and purchased a squidgy.

Only problem is she has 4 other siblings who use this bathroom and won't do it 😒

We clean the bathroom every 2nd day and deep clean every Friday. Hubby and I have our own bathroom downstairs

Agree. We do this daily. Treated the glass & tiles with enduroshield purchased on an Aldi special buy & squeegee off daily. Once weekly spray with wet & forget shower witch, leave & wash off next morning with hand held shower head. Sparkling clean & no scrubbing. Occasionally use wet & forget mould & mildew, but this tends to be in winter months when bathroom doesn't dry out as well. Again no scrubbing & good for those of us with back or hip issues.
