Hoover Washing Machine​

Wash days once meant rolling up your sleeves and trusting the sturdy hum of a Hoover washing machine to do the heavy work. Its wringer top, churning water, and solid enamel body were a familiar sight in countless laundries and back verandahs. I remember a boy and his sister at primary school who had their feet squished in those wringers. Lost their feet and needed to wear wooden stumps. But hey, that boy could run fast on them.
