Homemade Chutney mystery
I’m not sure if this question should go to the older generations as my mum was in her mid nineties when passed but here goes
Mum would make tomato chutney and I have her recipe that she partly followed however there is one thing that she did. Would anyone know why she would put her chopped tomato, onion and maybe the apple in a bucket with a tea towel over it and put out into the laundry over night, I gather because of the strong smell BUT WHY OVERNIGHT?
