Home stylist shares how she made a DIY 'daisy mirror' – it's so easy!

If you've spent some time browsing through home interior accounts on Instagram and Pinterest lately, you might have noticed that most of them have a stylish mirror hanging on their walls.
These mirrors often cost hundreds of dollars, which we have to admit, is way too expensive for a piece of home decor.
So why not just make one yourself? Here, a home stylist shows us how!

Geneva Vanderzeil is a Brisbane-based home stylist and an upcycling enthusiast who is known on social media for her ridiculously simple and easy DIY projects (like this mushroom lamp and this pedestal dining table).
This time, she's showing us how to make a quick and easy DIY 'daisy mirror' using only a few items from Bunnings.
Here are the items you need:
- 80cm round mirror ($59.98)
- 10 x Craft 24.9 cm wooden round placemat ($1.98 each)
- White paint or any colour of your choosing
- Liquid Nails
And here's how to do it:
- First, coat all the placemats with a few layers of paint (these round placemats will serve as the flower's "petals") and allow them to air-dry.
- Once the paint has dried, lay your placemats under the mirror and arrange them to look like petals (the mirror being the "face" of the flower). Make sure they are evenly spaced by looking at them from afar.
- Using liquid nails, slowly and carefully glue the placemat "petals" one by one to the back of the mirror. Allow them to dry.
- Now all that's left is to make sure the mirror attaches to the wall. You can use the hook provided with the mirror or you can also glue some rope at the back.
Because one daisy mirror is never enough, Geneva also decided to make another one. This time, she used an oval-shaped mirror and some coasters, all from Bunnings.
Geneva's clever DIY clip amassed more than 270,000 views, catching the attention of thousands of users who were left impressed.
In the comments section, one mum wrote that her daughter is obsessed with anything 'daisy' so she is definitely trying this for her bedroom.
A second user suggested using smaller mirrors instead of placemats, while another chimed in, saying: "It would be cool to add extra details like butterflies or bees."
This DIY project looks so cute! Are you looking to try this too, members?
