Hollywood star makes a shocking appearance in a small Aussie town–can you guess who it is?

A Hollywood action hero has been spotted in one of Australia's smallest and most remote towns, Walhalla, in the Gippsland region.

The town, once a bustling hub for over 4,000 gold seekers, is now a quiet village with a population of just 20.

Who is this Hollywood legend, and why is he in such an unlikely location?

The answer is none other than the beloved Liam Neeson, and he is currently filming the action-packed sequel, Ice Road 2: Road to the Sky.

Following the success of the 2021 blockbuster Ice Road, the sequel sees Neeson's character, Mike McCann, embarking on a journey to Nepal to scatter his brother's ashes on Mount Everest.

However, his journey is fraught with danger as he clashes with Nepalese mercenaries along the way.

To bring this thrilling plot to life, the quaint town of Walhalla has been transformed into a Nepalese village, serving as the backdrop for some of the film's intense action scenes.

In pictures obtained by reporters, Neeson, 71, was seen on set, shielded from the sun and having make-up and fake blood applied to his face, ready to dive into the action.

The town's residents were informed last month that filming would continue until the end of January.

A letter was sent to a handful of them, stating, ‘During preparations, you will notice cosmetic changes to Walhalla’s Star Hotel and other landmarks on Main Rd. Most notably at the Walhalla Rotunda, the Fire Station Museum and car park off Right Hand Branch Rd.’

'These changes will be temporary for the purpose of filming, and utmost care will be taken to protect heritage structures. The buildings will be returned to their original heritage colours shortly after filming has completed.’

The arrival of the Hollywood star has sparked excitement among the town's residents.

'I've watched heaps of his movies,' one woman said.

'So…it's pretty exciting.'

Joining Neeson in the cast are Australian stars Bernard Curry, Geoff Morrell, and Grace O’Sullivan.

Victoria’s Acting Minister for Creative Industries, Natalie Hutchins, said that production is expected to inject over $30 million into the state economy, creating nearly 600 employment opportunities for local screen industry workers and extras.

Fifteen locals have also been given the opportunity to take on leading head-of-department roles.

It was also months ago when news came that another Hollywood actor was seen in a local grocery in Western Australia.

Who could this be? And why was he seen grocery shopping along with his wife and daughter? Find out more here.
