Hi There Boomers!

Just a short hello! Who am I? Well a husband, father grandad son on it goes - since arriving in this country in the 60's with my parents and little sister we have had the experiences of all immigrants - living in the Nissan huts at Perth's immigration centre - finding a house in the hills and eventually landing in Albany in the Southwest! The nearest thing to Somerset that my parents could find! Rolling green hills and rich farmland and dairy cows everywhere! Mum is 84 and lives in a lifestyle village just 500m from where the first dairy we worked in 60years ago! My brother and sister are still on the land - I have had 2 careers one as a science teacher, 30 years and one still ongoing as a landscape gardener! I now help homeschool my grandchildren one day a week and work 1-2 days a week mowing lawns and pruning hedges etc. I treat work as a visit to the gym that I get paid instead of paying some kid to tell me how to lift weights!! Having a little more time now I have a very extensive garden that feeds us fruit and vegetables removing reliance on supermarkets for fresh food. You remember those $15 lettuce in QLD - I had 600$ worth in my yard that week! LOL As for recreation I cycle, fish when I can and tinker with cars - having a 50yr old classic muscle car and Camry for the mundane stuff and BA for work and trailer duties!!
That's probably enough to start!
I could bore you for hours with vege brag photos - giant cauliflowers and asparagus spears tomatoes and sweet potato..........
So wishing all a great day! (My grand-daughter doing flowergirl duties at my nieces wedding with my 5L beast)
