In his life I never heard my father say an angry word to my Mum.

Same, my father never said an angry word to Mum or us children it was always Mum that disciplined us as Dad was working out in the bush shearing and only came home on weekends or wet weather. Not much wet weather around Longreach,

I heard plenty of angry words from both growing up. I loved them both, but can’t say they were my heros.

Very lucky to have the two most wonderful parents.......loved them both so very much and still miss them all of these years after their passing. ❤❤

My mother bought my brother and me úp as a single mum, back in the 50s. Some feat in those days, no single mum's pensions, no maintenance from a deadbeat dad who preferred to gamble
She was not a well woman and passed away at the early age of 65. She is my hero, not too many women were that brave in those days.
