Here's how to make DIY abstract art from budget Kmart buys!

Have you ever stood in the middle of a room in your house and felt that something was missing, yet you just couldn't put your finger on it?
They say that an empty wall at home is like a blank canvas waiting to be filled. No matter how finely painted your walls may be, those walls will always be a source of boredom and may create a bad impression on you and your visitors if they are not well decorated.
Maybe what you need, after all, is some nice and chic wall art?
One of the best things about having a piece of homemade artwork in your home is the fact that it can help you be more expressive with yourself.
After all, making art is all about making an impression and capturing your own aesthetic, and having a piece of artwork that is truly yours is a wonderful way of being able to achieve this.
If you're not sure where to start, worry not because Dina Santos, a DIYer from Brisbane, is here to show you how to make abstract wall art that will surely elevate and spice up your living space!
And the best part? You only need a few items from our favourite retail store Kmart.

Here are the things you need:
- Framed Stretch Canvas
- PVA glue
- Scarf from Kmart (any colour)
- Pencil (optional)
- First, try to visualise how you will place the scarf on the canvas. (You can even try marking the position down with a pencil, but just make sure that it's light enough to be unnoticeable.)
- Next, mix equal parts of PVA glue with water to make a glue solution. The amount should be enough for the whole scarf.
- Add a bit of glue to the canvas where you're about to place the scarf so you have a guide to follow (if you didn't make an outline with a pencil).
- Then, slowly dip your scarf into the glue solution, making sure that every bit is wet but not dripping.
- Place the scarf where you want it to be on the canvas, adding a bit more glue as needed. (The glue dries clear so you don't have to worry about getting it on the wrong places!)
- When the scarf is firmly glued in place on the canvas, leave it to dry.
And voila – you now have an abstract artwork proudly made by you! Simply hang the artwork on your bedroom walls or living room walls, any place where you think it fits best, really.
