These burgers are a healthy and delicious alternative to traditional burgers. They’re packed full of nutrients and are very easy to make. These burgers can be enjoyed with a side of homemade chips, but we can assure you, they are pretty filling just on their own!
Ingredients:
500g ground beef
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 garlic clove, minced
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 whole wheat hamburger buns (there will be enough meat for 4 burgers)
1/2 cup plain yoghurt
1/4 cup chopped cucumber
1/4 cup chopped tomato
1/4 cup chopped lettuce
Method:
1. In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper.
2. Form the mixture into 4 patties.
3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
4. Add the burgers to the skillet and cook for 4 minutes per side, or until the burgers are cooked through.
5. Serve the burgers on whole wheat hamburger buns with yoghurt, cucumber, tomato, and lettuce.
