Health Lab orders recall of its vegan kids’ chocolates after detecting 'milk contamination'
Health Lab has announced the recall of a number of its children's products after detecting milk in its vegan products.
The vegan chocolate brand ordered the recall of Mylk Chocolate Zillions 100g, Whyte Chocolate Zillions 100g and Mixed Kwalas 96g with best before dates of 23 August 2022 and 23 October 2022 from the shelves of Woolworths and Big W stores across the country after they were subjected to a Food Standards Alert late on Friday.

It was reported that the undeclared presence of milk from these products could potentially cause an allergic reaction in children if consumed.
A Food Standards statement read, "Consumers who have a milk allergy or intolerance should not consume this product, and should return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund."

Health Lab, which is known for its 'plant-based' and 'all-natural' products, assured the public that the rest of their products are free from milk contamination and that they were already investigating how the contamination occurred.
A spokesperson of the vegan brand said: “We are currently working closely with the Victorian Department of Health and the Food Standards Australia and New Zealand to investigate how this event occurred and manage this recall process.”
“The remainder of our Health Lab and Health Lab Kids collections are without contamination. Please always read the ingredient list.”
