I actually think it has something to do with how they age them for racing? 2 year old, 3year old etc. It's always puzzled me why horses all share the same birthday.
Most of them can't count so they don't know their own birthdate. It's always puzzled me why horses all share the same birthday.

My Beau has plenty of birthdays.
Guess it saves owners trying to remember the actual date of a horse's birth. It's always puzzled me why horses all share the same birthday.
Please do let me know what this image means. A candle stub?

I think that you will find that most professional horse breeders take this into account. I believe that horse mating can actually be very wild and dangerous for both horses And people if they are close by. Therefore most of breeding is done via AI & therefore more controlled, otherwise it is controlled by introducing a stallion to the mare for short periods of time.U hit the nail on the head there, "Ezzy". Just think that if you'd bred a special horse to race in the 2 yr old classic, the Golden Slipper or the other major 2 yr old classics. You'd be totally devastated as it'd no doubt be classified as a 3 yr old. Wot a "Bummer" it would be.
No doubt, I'll be corrected on that comment.

Therefore breeding is controlled by dates.
Please somebody correct me if I am wrong. There must be a horse breeder on here somewhere?
