Ham-azing news! This holiday essential at Woolies is now more affordable than ever

Christmas is fast approaching, and for many Aussie families, that means one thing—it's time to get the ham! This delicious and versatile meat has become a centrepiece of Christmas lunch and dinner tables.

And now Woolworths has brought festive cheer by slashing prices on bone-in half-leg Christmas hams to just $8 per kilo—the lowest price in nine years!

The traditional Christmas ham holds a special place in many of our hearts. Roasting a glazed honey ham with all the trimmings is often associated with festive memories.

One of the great things about Christmas ham is its versatility. You can roast, bake, grill or glaze it with honey, maple or spicy rubs. Leftover ham also makes for excellent sandwiches, omelettes, pasta dishes and more!

Christmas hams have arrived at Woolworths, and they're expected to be very popular with shoppers. So, if you plan to buy one, be sure to watch for them!

Woolworths will have 17 different types of ham available for the festive season. This includes new options like the easy-carve double-smoked ham, priced at $11 per kilo, and gold triple-smoked ham at $28 per kilo.

Woolworths Supermarkets' Managing Director, Natalie Davis, understands the importance of value this year.

'Ham is the centrepiece of the Christmas table for many Australian families, so we're excited to lower the price of our award-winning half-leg ham to $8 per kilo, which is our lowest price for Christmas since 2014, to help budgets go further this year.'

She also highlighted the convenience aspect of their ham selection: 'We know that preparing food can be time-consuming, which is why we developed our range with convenience in mind.'

'We've done the work to make sure the range is easy to cook or heat up and carve.'

This comes after it was announced that Coles is also slashing the prices of their Christmas hams this holiday season.

Coles has reduced the price of their Coles brand Single Smoked Beechwood Half-Leg Ham by 50 cents per kilogram compared to last year. If you consider a standard four-kilogram half-leg ham, you can now buy it for a budget-friendly $32.

What's even better is that this ham can serve a group of up to 20 people. When you do the maths, each serving of this delicious ham costs just over $1.50!
