Grandma reveals the secret to her long life – booze and junk food!

The popular saying goes, “You only get one shot at life.”

However, an English centenarian would like to disagree. According to her, you get several shots at life.

As in Jagerbombs and tequila shots. Oh, and add some pizza, sausage rolls and cakes too.

Turns out, the secret to a long and happy life is an unusual combination of booze and junk food.

Lily Bullen, a 102-year-old grandmother from Worcestershire, England, gladly credits her favourite booze and junk foods as the main reason she’s lived a long and happy life. Her favourites are Mexican liquor, Domino’s pizza, Greggs sausage rolls, and a few slices of cream cakes.

On her most recent birthday celebration, Mrs Bullen was seen downing shots of tequila around her friends and family, which included her five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Holly West, one of Ms Bullen’s granddaughters, said that this was not the first time their grandma showed her love for alcohol.

“She had a surprise birthday party for her 100th birthday, where she did a tequila shot. She also did a Jägerbomb and tequila shot at our wedding in 2013,” she said.

Aside from her (rather unhealthy) diet, her relatives pointed out that her “love of life” and her eagerness to “experience new things” are some of the major reasons that she keeps on ‘keeping on’.

Also, the grandma loves spending time with her family, particularly her great-grandchildren, so she doesn’t want to miss out on any time she could spend with them.

“Her favourite pastime when she can is to watch her great-grandchildren play,” added Mrs West.

“At the age of 99, the home took Nan ice skating for the first time in her life and she loved it.”

According to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, their nan has always had one piece of advice that she wanted to pass on to her family, and that is: “Live one day at a time because tomorrow is never promised.”

And while this kind of diet and lifestyle works for Mrs Bullen, we must advise our members that it is still best to consult with your doctors and local health experts if you want to incorporate more liquor and junk food into your diet!
