Grab your tickets now! Qantas unveils exciting non-stop flights from Australia to Europe

Seeking out something exciting for your next overseas holiday?

Well, we’ve got good news for you!

Aussies dreaming of that European holiday are finally one step closer to making those dreams a reality next year!

Qantas has announced it will be launching new non-stop flights from Perth to Paris starting 12 July 2024, giving passengers another convenient option for direct access to top European destinations.

The new 17-hour flights will start just in time for the European summer travel season and the 2024 Paris Olympics, opening on 26 July.

Travellers can also book 'circle fares' that allow them to fly into Paris and return from London or Rome on one ticket or vice versa.

This opens up options for Aussies looking to visit multiple hotspots on one convenient ticket.

Qantas already operates popular non-stop routes from Perth to London and seasonal services from Perth to Rome. The service will take off again on 15 June 2024.

The Paris flights will be available all year round, four days per week on Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft during the summer peak in Europe. This will eventually drop to three per week starting mid-August.

Economy return launch fares will start from $1899 and will be on sale until Thursday, November 2.

Vanessa Hudson, Qantas Group CEO, said the route had been on their 'wish list for a while'.

'Our direct flights to London and Rome have been hugely popular, and Paris is the next most-requested destination, so we know the demand for this service will be strong as well,' Ms Hudson said.

'Some of the first customers on these flights will be Australian athletes heading to Paris to compete at the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.'

'We’re the only airline offering these direct flights rather than going through a midpoint because the key market we serve is Australia. Our in-flight service is designed with long-haul travel in mind.'

Qantas will reportedly be working with WA Tourism to encourage Europeans to travel into Perth.

WA Premier Roger Cook said in a statement: 'Securing new direct aviation services like this is absolutely vital to drive travellers to Western Australia, inject visitor spend into our economy and create jobs in the tourism and hospitality industries.'

Just recently, the airline has also returned to mainland China for the first time in three years.

According to the airline, since the borders reopened, its Sydney to Shanghai flights were the final international destination to return to its pre-COVID-19 network.

This growth comes as Qantas and other airlines face elevated fuel costs and economic headwinds, causing the airline to increase their fares by an average of 3.5 per cent, while Jetstar reported 3 per cent.

'As flagged last month, sustained increases in fuel prices are placing upward pressure on fares,' the airline said in a statement.

'The Qantas Group has absorbed recent fuel cost increases but, given current tensions in the Middle East and broader economic factors including a weaker Australian dollar, the price of fuel is expected to remain elevated for some time.'

According to a spokesperson from the airline, the increase in fares was to recover 'some of this higher cost going forward while continuing to absorb the remainder'.
