Queensland has welcomed its first-ever court dog, Leo, and he’s already stealing hearts!
The golden retriever, trained by Guide Dogs Australia, will help children and vulnerable people feel calmer during court proceedings.
Funded by the Queensland Law Society and the Family Law Practitioners Association, Leo will be a comforting presence in what can be a stressful environment.
Chief Justice William Alstergren said Leo’s role will ‘greatly assist’ those who need it most.

This gave me (wouldn`t call it a warm and fuzzy feeling) but evidence that age is just a number. I have been tempted to undertake more studies or start something completely new (at 71) but doubts creep in. This article has had an encouraging effect, I know it is possible, but I think that as we age there are certain expectations that at 65 yrs of age we should be slowing down and not have any aspirations other than going to a retirement village, start planning our nursing home placement or funerals.
Well, lets get those thoughts out of our heads. Get up, get out there and enjoy your life.Meet Maryette McFarland, the 90-year-old woman from Northern Ireland who’s just graduated with her degree in literature, decades after putting her studies on hold to raise a family.

But I couldn’t imagine you ever wanting to wear something as offensive as this:

I’ve seen women (?) dressed like that but not so much in Australia. I’d see plenty when I used to travel to (Toronto) Canada to visit relatives.Do you know what in all the time on this planet I have never seen anyone dressed like that walking the streets.
