A Sydney research team has made a promising discovery in Parkinson’s research.

By targeting a faulty protein in the brain using a copper-based treatment, they reversed motor symptoms in mice. The treatment worked so well, researchers were ‘astonished’ by the results.

While there’s still a long road ahead, it offers hope for future human therapies. If successful, it could slow or stop the progression of this debilitating disease.

Tiny Aussie sugarbag bees may hold the key to a global health crisis. Scientists from the University of Sydney discovered that honey from these native stingless bees can kill bacteria even after being stored or heated.

That’s big news, especially as antibiotic resistance becomes a growing threat worldwide.

What makes it special? It works in multiple ways, making it tough for bacteria to fight back.

Already used by First Nations communities for treating skin conditions, this honey is now approved by food authorities, opening doors for future medicinal use.
