Hope for Type 1 Diabetes​

A small but promising trial has brought renewed hope to those with type 1 diabetes. Ten out of 12 patients who received an experimental stem cell treatment no longer require insulin a year after the infusion.

Published in the New England Journal of Medicine, the findings suggest this may be a game-changing step towards a functional cure. Even the remaining two participants saw a significant reduction in insulin needs.

If the results continue, the medication could be submitted for regulatory approval next year.

They are all worthy of our praise and thanks. My son lives with Type1 diabetes, so I welcome anything that would keep him safer from complications.

So many good news stories this week. I especially like the Diabetes one. It seems the stem cell treatment is going very well.
Just wish I could still support some of all the medical research going on right now.
So much good coming from it.
