Good morning from Melbourne
I've been a senior for a number of years as I'm now 71. I live with my husband and our beautiful rescue dog. I spend my time in my art studio, reading, cooking and walking. I guess I could be described as an introverted extrovert, ( yes, there is such a thing). I also discovered recently that there is a name for people like me, who love to be in the water, swim at every opportunity, live near the water and don't want to be away from water. - I'm a thalassophile. My husband marvels at how I can spend hours reading in a spa or bath. I'm sure there are a few of your here too. My greatest passion is my family. I love to spend my time with my 2 granddaughters, age 2 and 5, and I'm lucky enough to be a huge part of their lives: cooking, babysitting, sleepovers, excursions to the museum or aquarium etc. I have one son who has been fantastic to me. I've never had a problem with him so I consider myself fortunate, as I know this is not always the norm. I'm very proud of the man he has become:- kind, hardworking, compassionate and the most wonderful father to his daughters. My daughter in law is wonderful too and she tells me that she has hit "the mother in law jackpot". ( thank God ) I know that this is also not necessarily the norm, My other passion is helping rescue dogs. It breaks my heart to see so many given up to shelters, which are overflowing at the moment. I would love to travel more. I've been all over Europe and Asia and lived in England for 4 years. I've travelled extensively in Australia but want to do more. I think my favourite place was the west coast of Australia and the Pilbara. I could happily live anywhere tropical but don't want to leave my family. I'm looking forward to sharing thoughts and opinions.
