Give your floors a stunning makeover using this crafty TikTok hack!

Ever get tired of looking at your unremarkable and uninteresting floors? Perhaps a simple renovation of your flooring is something you've been wanting to do for a while, but you are also well aware that you don't have the budget for such a comprehensive project.

Well, as it happens, giving your floors a much-needed makeover doesn't have to be an expensive (and overwhelming) endeavour any longer. Here, a crafty TikToker shows us how!

Giving your basic, boring tiles a fresh new look does not have to be expensive, according to Chelsea, who goes by the TikTok account @ohsomint. It's actually so simple that anyone can do it!

Here are the things you will need:

And here's how she did it:

First, Chelsea used a primer on the tiles, and then she painted them white using a paintbrush and paint roller.

Once they were dry, she added the stencil pattern using black and brown paint and a stencil cutout.

After the paint was dry, Chelsea sealed it with a heavy-duty floor varnish to give the paint protection and help it last longer.

For anyone who wishes to modernise a piece of their tiled flooring but lacks the funds to rip out and replace their tiles, Chelsea's project is a perfect inspiration.

Only a few cans of paint, a stencil, and some paintbrushes are all that is needed to complete the DIY project – making it the perfect weekend activity that anyone can complete in a single day. You can even ask the grandkids to come and help!

Chelsea's stencilled floor renovation video was a massive hit with her social media followers, garnering over 360K views in less than a week! Thousands of users commented on the clip, complimenting her for the brilliant idea.

"That is stunning. "You did an excellent job," one woman commented, while another added, "Ooh, I love this!"

"Wow, this is incredible," said a third.

If you want to know if this home improvement trick only works on indoor floors, you can look at how All-Star Block couple Ronnie and Georgia used it to give their backyard a new look a few years ago.

According to Georgia, the two of them took around three days to completely hand-stencil over 40 square metres of concrete in their backyard. "It was a temporary, cost-effective solution to pretty up a really ugly space," she added.

Once the paint on the concrete dried, Ronnie and Georgia applied a sealer to give the DIY some longevity.

"It's so important, we're using this two-part polyurethane and what we're doing is we want to protect the stencil," said Ronnie

Although the stencilled concrete looks so fantastic that you may be fooled into thinking it was tiled, Ronnie and Georgia eventually decided to remove it.

They were in the process of remodelling their house, and painting the backyard was a short-term fix to make it look better until they could finish.

But if you want a new look for the season or for good, painting is an easy and inexpensive way to change the look of your home!

All very well and good and it looks great and certainly revives the look but for me totally impossible. With my bad back if I got down on the floor I'd never get back up again!!;);)
