Get the chance to win a million-dollar bottle of whiskey from Vintage Cellar!

As part of the expansion of their customer rewards program, Vintage Cellars is giving away a million-dollar bottle of rare whisky to one lucky customer!

Vintage Cellars Wine Club will be relaunched as the VC Club starting March 2 and will be offering registered members a whole new range of exclusive benefits and offers.

Members also get invited to exclusive wine tastings and experiences, and can be given access to new product releases, the latest trends, and advice from liquor experts.

And to celebrate this new milestone, the liquor giant is giving away a bottle of Yamazaki 55 – an ultra-rare Japanese whisky that was once sold for AU$1,075,000 at auction in Hong Kong.

To join the giveaway for this exceptionally rare whisky, customers must sign up to the VC Club and make a purchase of $100 or more. Then, a raffle will be drawn to determine the lucky winner, which will be announced shortly after the competition ends on April 26.

To join the VC Club, register your information and sign up on their website here.

The Yamazaki 55 is one of the most sought-after spirits in the world. It is made from a precise blend of malts that have matured for over 55 years in mizunara oak casks. The resulting expression features a deep amber colour with a robust aroma strongly reminiscent of sandalwood and well-ripened fruit; the finish is slightly bitter yet sweet and rich.

“Throughout the process of blending Yamazaki 55, I used as inspiration the passage of time and ‘Wabi-sabi’ – the Japanese belief that imperfections can help to ultimately contribute to perfection,” said Shinji Fukuyo, Suntory’s fifth-generation chief blender.

“While I often view other extra-aged whiskies as art, I consider Yamazaki 55 to be more like a Buddhist statue: calm and mysterious, requiring time to truly enjoy the inner beauty.”

So for our members who are liquor connoisseurs, it might be worth entering the competition! What do you like to drink? Let us know in the comments below!

As a collector of whisky I would say that the suggested value is way over stated and if auctioned today would be lucky to reach half that price, Also a spirit aged to that extent would be undrinkable.

Who would want a $1 million bottle of whisky? You surely wouldn't want to drink it. Interesting that Ian Crane-Luff explains it would undrinkable anyway. Personally I'd rather have a couple of bottles of Grange.
