Let's be honest, placing a plastic bag inside the bin can get stressful, especially when the sides of the plastic bag keep getting untucked no matter how many times you shove them inside the corners of the bin.

For the most part, we even tend to make a mess, maybe even making an inconvenient hole in the plastic bag, instead of making it look nice and neat when we press down the sides of the plastic.

And let's not talk about organising the bags when it's actually filled with rubbish because that just gets real messy...

Facebook user Henry Tran shared a mind-boggling tip on how he managed to overcome his struggle with putting a plastic bag inside the bin.

"I'd share with you my little hack that has really made my life a little bit less stressful," he wrote in a popular Facebook group.

The Sydneysider confessed to getting extremely frustrated with the task that he considers this hack a game-changer.

So, how did he manage to place the plastic bag inside the bin neatly?

Henry said that he uses small hooks — 2 x 3cm in size — and places each of them on each side of the bin.

He then hooks the handles of the plastic bag on them.

Then, he slowly puts the bin in, explaining that if you're not careful with this step, the hook will get caught in the outer bin and fall off.

The post gained traction among Facebook users, with many saying that they will try the hack for themselves.

If ever there was a first world problem, this is it! If people are getting stressed out over a minor thing like this, I just hope they never have to face any of the problems that have come my way.

I know I’m in the 5% of world citizens who have ample food, clothing, shelter and freedom from war. I know that every morning when I turn the kitchen tap on, the water in my glass is the cleanest and purest in the world.

People pity me because of my situation, but I tell them to wake up and see all the blessings that surround me. And them.

So to those getting stressed out over something as trivial as putting a bag in a bin, I say this: 95% of the world’s population would sell their souls to be in your position. The only contact many of them have with bins, is going through them looking for food scraps.

While I happily used plastic shopping bags as bin liners in the past, now they've been phased out & I refuse to buy plastic bin liners - so I bought a bin from Big W with those lift out buckets. By simply washing out the buckets when I empty them into the big bins I've now been plastic bag free for over 2 years. The recycling bucket stays pretty clean anyway and making sure all organic waste goes into the green bin (again using a washable bucket not lined) means my actual rubbish bin is usually pretty clean too.

Yep, bought a dual pull out bin to insert into cupboard 23 years ago, used ever since and never spent a penny on plastic liner bags. If you put the right rubbish in the right bins and you are supposed to not problem. Don't have anywhere near enough rubbish to come close to filling the bins. Won't be long before they cut them down anyway.

But ONLY use bags that are fully compostable!!! Otherwise you are murdering animals with yr vile plastic bags!!
This hooks on bin hack has been around for years, and is doing the internet rounds again.

Well, that's one way to do that. I've never used hooks because my bin has a special thing to hold the bag in place.
I also use fully compostable bags most of the time. Still, some bags sit in the house and aren't necessary for anything except garbage. I think putting such a plastic bag inside the garbage bin is better than throwing it away. This way, it becomes reusable.
I understand why I should buy biodegradable bags from www.interplas.com instead of regular ones, though. Some people never use biodegradable bags, and this isn't good. But using a regular bag from time to time is not that of a problem.
