General Discussion Thread - 7.11.2024

Hi, everyone! 🌞 Welcome to this week’s General Discussion Thread—your space for all things casual and chatty! Got a thought, a question, or a story to share? Maybe a new show or movie that you’d recommend?

I'll start: I just finished Midnight Mass on Netflix, and I loved it! This 7-episode series is set on a remote island community where strange miracles—and terrifying omens—start appearing after a magnetic, mysterious priest arrives.

You can watch the trailer here if you're curious!

What's going on in my world right now?
Well we're still in the process of moving house, it's been slow going and expensive with my partner having to do all of the work without my help because of my cancer diagnosis which leaves me feeling weak and tired a lot, although my blood tests have all come back normal so I don't get why they are not showing up with cancer markers.
Our current land agent made an appointment for us with the local Magistrates court to extend out moving out date, it was done over the phone but as I was in hospital two weeks ago I couldn't make it so my partner took the call, he said she was wonderful and gave us until the 6th of December to move, 6 weeks after our original moving date.

I get very depressed over the cancer thing, sometimes it's the only thing on my mind and I can't shake the feeling.
My oncologist doesn't want to give me Chemo and I wanted it, but i'm not sure now, I want to get a biopsy done of the small mass on my lungs, which is telling me that I have stage 4 bowel cancer, to see if it could be something else, she told me it's a difficult place to do a biopsy but difficult doesn't mean impossible and i'm willing to endure the after pain as long as I get a definate diagnosis.

As for what we're watching right now, we've just finished a sci-fi series called the The Expanse, it's set in the future and taking from the blurb from IMDB it says:

"The disappearance of rich-girl-turned-political-activist links the lives of Ceres detective, accidental ship captain and U.N. politician. Amidst political tension between Earth, Mars and the Belt, they unravel the greatest conspiracy."
It had six seasons on Prime and we loved it."

Oh Demi l wish l could say the right words to help you.You must be having a really bad time right now but you need to know what the heck is going on.Go to another doctor as the other doesn't seem to be really doing anything. You may be worrying for nothing and l sincerely hope that is the case. All the best to you let us know.

My son bought tickets for his daughter Ella and her cousin last year for the Cold Play concert which was finally on last night in Sydney.Ella had gone over a few days before and was staying with her cousin.Anyway last night they both got there ok and were watching the first part when Angelina fainted then was sick everywhere so mum picked her up which left us worrying about Ella being on her own coming home. After several calls late at night we got a call that she was on her way back. Shame Angelina missed out.Did anyone else have anyone who went to the concert? Chris Martin is a great guy.
