G'day, lovely members! How are you all doing?
Yesterday, I gave my creative side a little workout. Armed with an adult colouring book and a fresh set of pencils, I dove into a blissful swirl of colour (while quietly ignoring the fact that I can’t draw to save myself

Somewhere in my colouring haze, I stumbled on a fascinating video about how some of the most iconic movie posters of all time were hand-painted. That’s when I discovered the work of Drew Struzan—the mastermind behind posters for Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and Back to the Future. His art defined an era of cinema, all before the days of Photoshop and digital editing.

What blew my mind was realising these weren’t digitally altered masterpieces—they were painted, brushstroke by brushstroke, with such realism and drama that you’d swear they were computer-made. The patience, detail, and sheer skill behind them is jaw-dropping.
Sadly, Drew now lives with Alzheimer’s and can no longer paint, but his legacy is nothing short of legendary. It’s a reminder that creativity leaves a mark far beyond the page—or the canvas. So, while I might never produce a blockbuster-worthy poster, my colouring pages feel just a little more special now.

What about you—do you draw, paint, or have a hidden artistic gift? I’d love to see (or hear about) your creations!
