General Discussion Thread 07.03.2025

We’ve made it through the week, and the weekend is just around the bend. Whether you're powering through the day or taking it slow with a cuppa, I hope there's something ahead that makes you smile.

Let’s talk comfort food—those little bites of happiness that never fail to lift your spirits. What’s yours? For me, it’s a thick, creamy milkshake and crispy chicken wings. I was feeling a bit down the past few days, and honestly, that combo worked wonders. It’s amazing how food can bring a little joy, isn’t it?

So, what’s your ultimate pick-me-up? Something homemade? A childhood favourite? A little indulgence you can never resist? I’d love to hear what brings you that warm, comforting feeling!

For me it is homemade Macaroni Cheese which I made yesterday as I am quite nervous and frightened about the impending cyclone....being a Brissy girl.

You must be scared and frightened it's understandable .We are all with you if you want to talk about how you feel l'm sure you will get lots of repliesl. l have just been on facebook to my daughter in Burleigh Waters and she said they have no power now and some trees are down as it's very windy but her and her family are ok.Try not to worry too much

l love home grown tomatoes with cheese vol au vents and fried to a crisp mushrooms in a little garlic and olive oil. Sweet choice would be chocolate eclairs with real cream

I'm in Brissy as well. Are you tiring of the wait also? I just wish it would hurry up already. I feel like we've been prepared for so long and it just keeps slowing down. Stay safe 🙏

Alfred is certainly taking its time and this waiting is awful as I, too, have not experienced a cyclone.
You take care and stay safe.

Yes, thought it would be over and done with by now. Can only hope it's weakening as well. You stay safe as well and sincerely pray any damage will be limited to none.🙏

Glad to hear they are OK. The coastal areas will bear the brunt unfortunately. I'm not in a flood area of Brisbane fortunately, main concern for me will be wind/rain and I believe the noise of the wind😣
