General Discussion Thread 02.05.2025

G’day, members! How’s your Friday afternoon shaping up? Whether it’s a quiet one or a bit busy with errands, I hope you’ve found a few surprises here and there. I’ve been taking a look at some of the stories about AI and how they’ve been stirring controversy—especially the latest one involving the late Pope Francis. It’s quite heartbreaking to see technology being used for nonsense. This made me wonder: how do you see technology affecting our daily lives in the next couple of years? Are you optimistic or concerned—share your thoughts with us.

Yes I am very concerned. Personally this has affected me. There is a person in my Units who is on the Body Corporate, and has an outside camera that sees people coming and going. She also seems to be using it to see what residents here are doing as they come and go, and to look at anything she thinks is not appropriate for the Committee Regulations. This has been a true pain to me and others as she takes pictures as well of areas in the downstairs garage where she might not approve of an item she doesn't think should be there. I understand it being used for security purposes but it's very upsetting to be viewed this way.
