I have been cooking potatoes and meat in foil packages for maybe 35 years . I do one using lamb grillers and one using steak.
My kids loves openening up these parcels of food.

1. In a large sized bowl or XL zip lock bag combine the lean sirloin steak chunks, baby potatoes, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, onion powder, olive oil, salt, and freshly ground pepper. Gently toss the ingredients until they are well-coated with the flavorful seasonings.
Leave to marinate for at least 2 hours
2. Divide the steak and potato mixture evenly among four 30 x 30 cm doubled layer aluminum foil sheets. Carefully seal the packages by folding diwn tightly to secure the foil packets. This ensures that the flavors are trapped inside and from drying out and intensify during the cooking process.
3 . Place the foil packages on a baking tray and place them in the preheated oven. Allow them to bake for at least 20 minutes or until the steak and potatoes reach the desired level of tenderness. 20 minutes is medium rare . I take out hubby's and one sons and continue to cook others for 10 minutes
Once your foil packets are cooked to perfection, carefully open them (watch out for the steam!). For an extra zesty touch, garnish with fresh parsley. You can serve the dish directly from the foil or plate it up . I leave foil parcels as is and serve parcels on a plate.
When my kids were young I opened the parcels but now I let everyone open their own
Notes:
I use the white baby potatoes as they cook quicker , using other potatoes will still be hard
You can add carrot chunks to parcels
The parcels are a meal on its own or serve with tossed salad or steamed vegetables
