Herbs have the power to elevate just about any meal but restocking your herb supply every week on your grocery shop can really add up.
And if you’ve ever tried to bag home one of those little potted varieties from the supermarket in an attempt to grow your own herbs sustainably, but to no avail, you’re definitely not alone - we’ve killed more coriander plants than we’d care to admit.
But don’t fret– because we stumbled upon just the guy that’ll show you how it’s done!
One gardening expert, under the handle @joesgarden on TikTok, shared a simple hack that will guarantee you a one-time herb purchase. He demonstrated how to grow your herbs efficiently, leaving you with an endless supply for years on end!
“Getting an unlimited supply of supermarket herbs is super easy,” the green thumb captioned his video. “This will work with quite a few types of herbs including basil and rosemary.”

Joe explained how effortless it is to propagate these popular herbs with a step-by-step tutorial– and it all starts with choosing a single stem you want to grow.
“Take a cutting, like this one, and pour some water into a little container," Joe said.
"Remove the bottom leaves and pop the stem into the water. After a week, it will start to root. Just pot it up and you'll have an unlimited supply of herbs."
The simple gardening hack amassed over 2.5 million views, with hundreds of comments from users who adored the easy trick.
“I tried your tip and I got a huge amount of basil and rosemary now!” one person shared.
“How come I NEVER thought about doing that?” asked another.
“This is such an amazing idea. I really want to try this!” praised a third.
Although Joe’s hack really is spectacular, some users warned others about the downsides of the trick if they’re not careful.
“Just don't plant them (into the ground)... The buggers take over the whole garden if you aren’t careful.” one user advised, to which Joe responded: “I learned that the hard way when I was a kid.”
“They grow like crazy so be careful where you plant them. They will take over.” chimed another.
