So, we all know that feeling of dread when we have to use a public restroom - especially if it looks like it hasn't been cleaned in months. But can you imagine having to use a restroom that looks like something out of a horror movie?
Well, that's exactly what one woman had to deal with when she started her new job. The bathroom in her workplace, which she noted will be her 'second home', looked like something out of the movie 'Saw' (for those of you who are familiar), and she wasn't about to let herself or her coworkers use it in that state.
So, she took matters into her own hands and gave the bathroom a makeover - on a budget of $0. She used what they could find in the workshop and painted it herself. Then, she decided to 'splash out' and buy some paint chips to scatter on the floor, to make it a bit more fun.
Now, there's been a lot of talk lately about a creative way to use Kmart’s $10 paint chips, and the woman decided to get to the bottom of it.

Sharing her success with cleaning the bathroom on a popular Facebook group, the woman gave the group members an inside scoop on how anyone could give their spaces a makeover using the budget Kmart buy. But, before anything else, she wanted to clear up a few things...
She explained: 'This isn't an epoxy kit that you can purchase at Kmart. I bought paint chips and everything else is either recycled or something they had lying around in the workshop.'
'The toilet didn't have chipped enamel, that's just mould.'
'My boss wouldn’t be happy if I knocked the whole building down,' she jokingly added.
Now to the best part: what exactly is the process for effectively applying these paint chips?
The floor was already painted blue in the kitchen, so the woman, along with her co-workers, just scrubbed it clean and then rinsed it with hot water. They then painted the first coat and left it to dry over the weekend.
For the second coat, they painted in small sections and sprinkled the paint chips over the wet paint in sections. They then left it to dry overnight.
The next day, they applied the first coat of sealer and left it for 24 hours to dry. They then applied the second coat and left it for another 24 hours to dry. Finally, they applied the third coat.
For the bathroom, they did both coats of paint in one day and used industrial fans to dry it. The next day, they applied two coats of sealer. On the final day, they applied the last coat of sealer.
After a few days of work, the bathroom was transformed into something much more pleasant - and safe - to use.

The post has captured the attention of thousands of group members who were stunned by the 'drastic' transformation of the restroom.
One user praised: 'What a transformation! Love that you’ve used stuff you already had.'
'Omg this is brilliant and I think your workmates and boss owe you big time, this reno would change your entire mood from down and dreary to uplifting,' another wrote.
A third chimed in: 'I saw the paint chips in Kmart the other day, and I thought “what on earth would you use them for?“ but what an amazing job.'
The woman's renovation project just goes to show what a little bit of resourcefulness (and a sense of humour) can do.
