FOUND A $20 NOTE​

Did you know.... There is a law that says, and you can be charged, for "Theft, by finding" ???
Apparently, all monies found, is supposed to be handed in to Police in the event someone has lost it, and they report it as missing.

Policeman: Can you describe the $20 note you lost?

Loser: Well it's red, has AUSTRALIA running across the top and has 20 in the top right hand corner.

Policeman: Can you tell me the serial number?

Loser: Ummm....no.

Policeman: Well it can't be yorrs!

Loser leaves the police station.

Policeman pockets the $20 note!

Don't worry! It has has happened to me under different circumstances in a licensed club. I found an plain envelop lying in the old style ashtray trough at the bar. A workmate grabbed it off me and handed it to the barman who quickly pocketed it. The envelop had in excess of $1000 in it!

Did that back in the '70's. Three months later night visit from cops to return the $20.
