Former Hollywood star resurfaces after stepping away from show business. Why?

The entertainment industry has been home to some of the most talented and show-stopping figures.

Despite their acclaimed fame, some stars decide to step away from the limelight for various reasons.

After being away for a considerable amount of time, one of TV's most popular hosts is back in the spotlight, yet for a different reason.

Ellen DeGeneres was once hailed as the queen of daytime TV.

However, she has seen her fair share of ups and downs in recent years.

After stepping away from the bright lights of Hollywood, Ellen and her wife, Portia de Rossi, sought solace in the English countryside.

Yet, even in this peaceful new chapter, heartbreak still found its way to their door.

Last week, DeGeneres took to social media to share some devastating news.

Her rescue dog, Augie, has passed away.

Augie was a Beagle-Chihuahua mix and had been part of their family for over a decade.

'We had to say goodbye to Augie yesterday,' Ellen wrote.

'We rescued him 12 years ago, and he was so grateful.'

'He gave us so much love. He will be missed. There will never be another like him,' DeGeneres further shared.

Alongside the written tribute, Ellen DeGeneres posted several photos capturing Augie's life.

The images became a reminder of the special bond people share with their furry friends.

Ellen and Portia have long been known for their love of animals.

Over the years, their household has become a home, not just Augie.

The couple also had a Poodle-Maltese mix named Kid, a purebred Poodle named Mrs Wallis Browning, and two tuxedo cats, George and Chairman.

Augie's passing was not the first time the couple has had to say goodbye to a beloved pet.

In 2020, they lost both their cat, Charlie, and another dog, Wolf.

Apart from entertainment, Ellen DeGeneres had a passion for animal welfare.

She established her line of pet products, ED, which graced pet store shelves worldwide.

Apart from her advocacy for animal welfare, Ellen DeGeneres has had a tumultuous career.

Following a highly-publicised workplace scandal, DeGeneres ended her long-running talk show in 2022.

She and her wife, Portia, decided to leave Hollywood behind and found a fresh start in the United Kingdom.

Despite the challenges, Ellen embraced her new life, which was a far cry from the red carpets and TV studios she once frequented.
