A Woolworths spokesperson has said that the toys would be great gifts this Christmas.

'We’re excited to introduce our new Big Box Toy range for all the fresh food kids in the making, including toys such as a mini supermarket and trolley.'

'This new range comes just as parents [and grandparents] start to look for fun gifts for Christmas that foster creativity and imagination.

'A new highlight for this year is our chicken rotisserie oven. We know hot roast chooks are a customer favourite, and now their minis can pretend to make their own at home.

'Our Big Box Toys have been a customer favourite since we first introduced them, and we expect them to be a big hit this Christmas.'

I see the appeal of the “mini” items, although the prices aren’t mini, particularly when you add them up. For as long as I remember, miniature items have always been fun; great for imagination and creative play. I wanted an “Easy Bake Oven” as a little girl, but managed to grow up without one. 😀

And if you had one you’d get bored with it and it would end up as landfill😞just saying🙀

I wonder how the mini trolley would get through the self service area? Would it be recognised or blocked? Yes, I know there are store attendants, but people seem to be forever complaining about the inconvenience, wasted time, etc.

My granddaughter has a Coles mini trolley and bags, cash register, and the grocery items she got when Coles had a collection of something going. I bought the trolley etc for her. She loves it and we play families, including going shopping, every time she comes to stay. She is now 8 and has been playing with these items for over two years. Probably still a novelty factor as she doesn’t have them at home.
