We at the Senior Discount Club can't help but appreciatively nod at the chain reaction set off in a Facebook group where ALDI super-fans congregate to share their favourite finds from the supermarket. The frenzied excitement for this budget-friendly, pre-cooked delight was palpable as soon as the request for feedback was posted.

Without hesitation, group members eagerly praised ALDI's lasagne, creating an overwhelming response that showcased their love for this savoury dish. The seal of approval was unmistakable as comments like 'BIG YES!' flooded in, echoing the collective sentiment of the group.

Some hailed it as 'delicious' while others threw in a gleeful 'Yum!'. A few took it up a notch, declaring ALDI's beef lasagne as the ‘best’ lasagne they've ever tasted and gave a hearty thumbs up for its cost-effectiveness.

As the comments started piling up, it was clear: ALDI's affordable lasagne has carved its cosy little nook in the kitchens of countless households, uniting Aussies over its dependable and classic flavour.

One member beamed, 'It's one of our staples!'

The attractiveness of the $11.99 price tag—for two kilos worth of product—struck a chord with the bargain hunters. ALDI's lasagne was revered not only for its taste but also for its undeniable cost benefits. 'Can't complain about the money,' one member pointed out.

Some were generous enough to share fun serving ideas like pairing this lasagne with Caesar salad, creating a terrific combination without the fuss of cooking from scratch.

Yet, like every culinary journey, tastes and experiences varied. As much as homemade lasagne holds a special place in many hearts, ALDI's version was agreed to be a worthy substitute for those days when cooking feels too much. 'Homemade is always better, but if you don't have time, I think this is a good substitute,' one user commented.

The chain of approval, however, was not without its share of dissent. A few critical voices chimed in, stating that the lasagne didn't meet their expectations.

Some found it unpalatable and chose homemade lasagne over ALDI's offering—a simple reminder that food experiences can be subjective.

I would absolutely love to buy something at $11.99 that's already made , for those nights when we really don't want to cook.

One of my daughters tried the Aldi Lasagne she said it was better than other frozen lasagnes she has tried but goes nowhere near what we make.

Lasagne is really quick to make and a cheaper way is to use the dry Lasagne rather than the fresh .

The aldi Lasagne says its 2kg but remember that would only be 500g of meat in it..

Takes me 15 minutes to prepare then 30 min in the oven

I would be extremely cautious in terms of the quality and type of content in these home dinner packs. Personally, I would avoid all of them. They will be full of sugar and chemicals, be high in carbohydrates, and given we are talking about lasagna the pasta will be inflammatory to our systems. Better off making your own at home and freezing packs of it in bulk so you can access it when you need it. Find an alternative to the pasta. Even though it may not be as tempting for the die-hard pasta eaters you could use thin slices of zucchini or eggplant and layer that in to form pasta type layers. Fill it with homemade meat sauce and use good pasture raised fatty mince. Do not use any form of sugar in the sauce. You can spice it up with sliced olives, maybe some good quality pepperoni, and some even put sliced hard-boiled eggs between the layers. Use plenty of good quality cheese and good quality Irish sea salt or Himalayan pink salt and remember use olive oil and full fat unsalted butter.

Now you can eat it with the confidence of knowing that the contents are healthy, and they are what you put in it. No chemicals, preservatives, or sugar and definitely very low in carbs.

Really? It takes me 30 minutes to make the bechamel sauce from scratch AFTER I cook up the meat and tomato sauce!

Then another 5 minutes or more to layer the lasagne sheets, meat and tomato sauce, bechamel sauce an cheese in the baking dish before baking it for at least 30 minutes.

Why would you bother? The whole idea is a meal that anyone would love without the need to cook it from scratch. As I don't eat either mince or pasta it is definitely not for me. Jaz would be tempted to eat it all & that would not be good for him. I might get one as a standby for when Artie comes for tea as she loves that kind of food.

I would rather make my own , you don’t need to have meat in your lasagna . I often make it with cheese and eggs .

Well, I buy 2kg of mince every fortnight and make a 1kg lasagne and 1kg spaghetti bol. The mince costs $22.00 then I have to buy the sauce add spices and mushrooms a whole pack of mozzarella cheese. I pay more than twice as much. I have had ALDIs lasagna and it’s really nice. I will definitely be buying that from now on.

I was in my local Aldi yesterday and they had 400gram ones above the large 2kg box Decided to buy two of those to try. A 2kg box is much too big for us.

Sorry, but I hate olives and as far as replacing the pasta with zucchini or egg plant, yuck
Lasagne is a pasta dish, why remove the pasta. It's OK to eat healthy, but if you're going to have lasagne let's just have lasagne not some screwed up concoction.

I don't know why but while I like all other pastas I cannot stand lasagne, maybe it's beacause the pasta is in a instead of the numerous other shapes?.

I have yet to try the Lasagne but I can highly recommend the potatoe top pie from Aldi, I am very particular when it comes to meat in pies I could not fault the quality of the meat and the flavour was wonderful and I just loved the pastry base.
