As the leaves turn and the air grows crisp, it's time to consider cosying up your home for the cooler months ahead.
BIG W has just the thing to help you do that, with their newly released homewares collection designed to bring luxury into your home without breaking the bank.
The 'luxury for less' motto has been the driving force behind BIG W's latest collection–the Autumn Winter Home Collection–which has been six months in the making.
The in-house team at BIG W has been hard at work, meticulously crafting a range of homewares that exude elegance and high-end appeal yet come with price tags that will leave you pleasantly surprised.
Beth Finckh, BIG W’s Senior Manager of General Merchandise, expressed her pride in the collection.
'I think the really important thing for us is, yes, we've stayed in trend, and we've moved on in shape and colour. But we've deliberately tried to design pieces that are going to have longevity.’
In a departure from the typical autumn and winter palette of dark, moody colours, Beth said BIG W's collection introduced a refreshing mix of bright hues, including white, tanzine, and various shades of green.
For her, this choice reflects the Australian climate, which, while cooler in these seasons, doesn't experience the harshness seen in other parts of the world. Australian homes also often feature brighter tones, too.
Layering, a concept often associated with fashion, involves wearing lightweight or loosely structured clothing items on top of each other, either to craft a stylish outfit or to stay warm without feeling overly bulky or heavy.
This collection brought this fashion concept into the realm of homewares.
It's a concept Beth finds 'really fun to play with,' as it adds an extra dimension to living room and bedroom spaces, allowing for a more personalised and textured look.
Bouclé, a favourite from their last autumn collection, returned alongside faux travertine, cotton, and faux fur.
The collection is the result of a collaborative effort involving different BIG W units: a forecast team, which identified upcoming trends and colours; an in-house print team, which created original designs by hand; a sourcing team, which secured vendors; and a quality assurance, which ensured that each product met high standards.
To showcase the versatility and appeal of the new range, BIG W hosted an open-home event featuring influencers from various backgrounds.
Reality TV series The Block’s Mitch and Mark, organisation expert Anita Birges, home cleaning guru Chantel Mila, and interior designer Brie Turton demonstrated how BIG W's items can be used to create luxurious spaces affordably.
Chantel Mila, who styled the living room, shared her thoughts: 'Achieving luxury in the home doesn't need to be expensive, and with BIG W's home living range, there is an incredible selection of high-quality products to help you create a refined space without the price tag.'
BIG W also became the talk of the town last year when it released a spring collection with everyday shirts, dresses, and shorts for an affordable price. You can read more about the collection here.
