FACT or FICTION
FACT OR FICTION?
Let the fact checkers do some work on this.
1. Has Australia always belonged to the aboriginals?
- If they have only been here for 10 - 50K years then clearly it has not
always 'belonged' to them.
2. The aboriginals and papuans split from Europeans and Asians about
58,000 years ago?
- the earliest anatomically modern human remains found in Australia (and
outside of Africa) are those of "Mungo Man" dated at 42,000 years, so
why do some claim to have been here 65 - 80K years?
3. They were only ever nomadic tribes (approx 250) of widely varying
types ie. Tasmanian aboriginals were most likely the oldest of these
tribes and the most primitive. Those in what we now call the Northern
Territory can trace 11% of their genomes to migrants who reached the
island 4,000 years ago (also said to have bought more advanced
toolmaking techniques and ancestors of the Dingo). So they could never
have really been classed as a 'nation' or 'nations'.
4. Truganinni died in 1876 as the last 'fullblooded' Tasmanian
aboriginal. Within her lifetime it is claimed that a "whole society and
culture were removed from the face of the earth". If this is true then
anyone claiming to be Tasmanian aboriginal can only be 50% at best but
more likely much lower percentage.
I wonder where the truth lies, I certainly don't for one second believe
that Albo's 'Voice' will do anything other than cause racist issues in
Australia. When 3.8% of the population wants special treatment, power or
influence over the other 96.2% of the population there will be great
heartache in one group and a lot of animosity. Albo has a voice for the
aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders with 11 representatives but his
arrogance does not permit him to listen to these duly elected people.
Sad times in Australia.
