In a unique twist on urban problem-solving, Melbourne, assigned email addresses to 70,000 trees to help citizens report issues like branches that needed to be trimmed.
This project by the Urban Forest, launched in 2013, not only made tree maintenance more efficient but also sparked a delightful exchange of whimsical letters. People began writing heartfelt notes to their favourite trees, leading to over 4,000 emails, with some trees even sending replies!
