Fact of the Day: The longest-lasting rainbow ever recorded​

In 2017, a breathtaking rainbow stretched across the skies of Taiwan—and stayed there for nearly 9 hours. From 6:57 a.m. to 3:55 p.m., students and professors at Chinese Culture University in Taipei documented what became the longest-lasting rainbow ever recorded, smashing the previous 6-hour record set in England in 1994.

'It was amazing … It felt like a gift from the sky ... It's so rare!' said Chou Kun-hsuan, a professor in the university's Department of Atmospheric Sciences. Ever seen a rainbow that felt like it would never end?
