Fact of the Day: How many seeds does a strawberry have?​

We all know strawberries as the red, juicy fruits that come in sweet, baked treats.

Other than that, it is the only fruit that bears seeds on the outside. But how many seeds adorn each strawberry?

Each strawberry has about 200 tiny seeds dotted all over its surface.

But did you know, that is you put a strawberry under a microscope you would see all these little bugs and creatures running around on the surface????
It might just change your mind about eating them.
As for me, I love strawberries and don't care about the little bugs

i have been in Australia for 60 years and have yet to find one as good as the strawberries i used to get in the UK for some reason unknown to me the strawberries we buy here are not completely ripe they all have a white top and do not taste sweet so i have stopped buying them.

Yeah they are horrible I haven’t had a strawberry in years.

I only use strawberries in salads as I don't make sweets (on purpose) but always wash them before use. The best strawberries are from Aldi as they last quite a long time.

Buy seeds (fortheringill, I Think the brand is) .. Grow your own strawberries in hanging baskets with plenty cow manure,,, some chicken poop and lots of water ... sun ripen them and NO CHEMICALs ..they will taste good again.'
Nowadays they gas them to get then on the shelf before the big amounts arrive in the markets.
Even if you pick your own on farms they don't taste like the did BECAUSE they genetically engineer them ... big strawberries sell faster.
