Fact of the Day: A day on Venus is longer than a year!
While most planets in the solar system spin in a similar manner, one of the eight planets is going the opposite direction: Venus.
Its rotation is slow compared to other planets, requiring 243 Earth days to complete a day.
However, since it’s closer to the sun, there’s an interesting tidbit about how years are counted in Venus.
A day on Venus is longer than a year! Venus takes 243 Earth days to rotate once but only 225 days to orbit the Sun. Talk about a slow spin!
